Never one to be put off by an ash cloud hanging over proceedings,
CMI Audio of Melbourne hosted a 3 day seminar at their premises
in April between the 13th and 15th.
The event saw the Australian launch of the DC1048
Integrated Audio Management and
NX Series Network Audio breakout boxes.
The 70-plus attendees were also treated to extensive speaker demonstrations
from the likes of HK Audio, Adamson, as well as a free lunch. There
is of course no such thing as a free lunch, but this came pretty
close...
Many of Australia's top audio consultants and installers attended,
and in particular the NX Breakout boxes received particular attention,
due to the continued and increasing interest in Danté as
a serious contender for large scale high performance live audio
networking.
Representing xta was Waring Hayes, who was duly grilled by the consultants
as to the benefits of Danté and why it was xta's choice for
the live performance range of NX network audio components. |
Waring explained "Following extensive listening tests with
(difficult to source!) 96k 24-bit recordings and comparisons between
the various popular networks in the market at the moment, Danté
was the only one we felt sufficiently capable of delivering multi-channel
audio without audible side-effects."
He continued "We spent a long time getting the highest performance
out of the converters in the unit(s), and it only seemed right to
pair them with a network of sufficient quality to warrant the blue
front panel!"
The final session of the seminar was taken up exclusively by engineers,
keen to learn more about using AudioCore including tricks for "Power
Users" and a brief demo of the new iPhone
app for controlling 4 Series using a Walkabout kit.

Peter Trojkovic,
CEO and director of audio, commented "This is the biggest seminar
we have held here at CMI, and it has been a great success.
Many attendees relished the fact that they could have hands-on interaction
with the gear and first hand knowledge from our international visitors!
We believe this will be the start of many such seminars here at
CMI."
