Hey Tom - saw Andi in Frankfurt and the iPad app is looking great, what with the new network support and the copy/paste stuff...a few minor bugs concerning timings but nothing major.
Did you read the blog post about it?
You might get a bargain iPad these days with the 3rd edition being out now, and apple users being so eager to give their money away (!).
Cheers,
Waring

Hi Tom - I'd love it for Android too, as I've just taken delivery of my third tablet, an Acer A100 which is absolutely fantastic (apart from maybe not the best battery life ever but OK).
As we haven't actually written the apps ourselves here at XTA I couldn't comment on what Andi Zeh, the developer of the apps, has in mind. He's a "dyed int he wool" apple man but I'll float the possibility past him and see what he thinks - it's all income for him in the end!

Thanks for getting in touch!

Hi Harry - iCore doesn't natively support TCP/IP sockets but the WiSP comes with virtual COM port drivers (like the USB-Serial adapter) so you can install them and use it just like a standard COM port.

Instructions are in the back of the iCore V2 guide here:

http://www.audiocore.co.uk/pdfs/icore_v2_quick_guide.pdf

and the drivers are avaiable from our Tech Support scetion of the website here:

http://www.audiocore.co.uk/software/digi_realport_drivers.zip

Have a read through this and see how you get on, and of course email me if you're having no luck...

Cheers,

Waring

Hi Waring,

I tried to get iCore working via a Wisp with my 548 the other day but didn;t manage. It didn't want to give me the option of TC/IP control. Am I missing something?

Thanks,

Harry

Hi harry - you need a NON cross-wried cable - one that's wired 1-1.
Something like this is would be perfect:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/StarTech-com-9-pin-Straight-Through-female/dp/B000067SLX/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1320051051&sr=8-2

If you need any help once you're connected up, just email me directly at the address on our website: http://www.audiocore.co.uk/contact.html

Cheers,

Waring Hayes

Thanks for that Waring.

I have finally got around to buying the USB adaptor. Can you tell me what kind of serial cable would I need to buy to extend the adaptor? Amazon offers a cross wired cable, is that what I need?

Thanks very much,

Hi Jonathan - it's available in the appstore - just search for "DP4" and you'll find it. Be aware that you need a Walkabout kit (well, the WiFi - serial interface half) to work with it.
Cheers,
Waring
